Thanks TSiSS350 :tu:

As DOHC 4G63's were never available in RWD and therefore you can not buy headers, I deceided to have a crack at making some fancy ones for myself, lol
Got cylinders 1 and 2 squared away this morning.
Let me know what you think.

I am thinking of covering them but that would be heaps of room, especially compared to turbo cars :P
Cyl 4 gets even closer :D

Had my head under the bonnet of a pair of 63T powered sigmas at the cruise last weekend and they both had big heat shields around the brake masters and they have more room than we do. I'd consider one around the steering box too. I made one up out of a sheet of heat shield material that I bought from bursons. You don't want to cook the oil out of your steering box if you can avoid it.

Are you sure you can't buy turbo manifolds ready made? The austarion seem to have a good supply of them. That said, making one your self is way more satisfying.

why not just take a 4G52/4G54 header, cut the flange off and weld on the 4G63 flange?

Could of I guess, this is much more fun though :D
Got No.4 sorted just need a 180 bend to join it.

No.3 will wrap around the front and come back between the block and dip stick. Hopefully get a chance to grab some more bends tomorrow.

Looking at some old pics and found some of the Galant at All Japan Day last year, thought you might be interested.

Just got back from collecting my paint for the engine bay and front panels. Will spend the afternoon on final prep.
Bit cool today to paint but will take pics if I make any progress worth noting.

Being playing around with a few different designs and have finally finished my extractors/headers.
Also used a remote mounted brake reservoir from a Scorpion to ensure they don't effect the brakes. Will still make a heat shield once they are coated and have final fitting.
What do you think?

Still got the last join to finish on number 2 but looking good.

I have no idea how they will sound but they should flow well. They are 2" running into a 4 into 1 collector, exiting as a single 3" pipe. Then through a reducer to a 2" flexy joint to a flange and then bolted to the existing exhaust system.

They will need to be sent out for final finish welding and smoothing. They will then be HPC coated and all ready to go

I am much happier this time around, these panels look better off the gun than some parts of the rest of the car and that has been sanded and polished, lol

Looking good, a pity you didn't make a couple of sets of headers....
I'm about to embark on two sets, one for the GC Coupe and one for the GTO 8)
