This thread is long overdue for an update isn't it? Well I've decided to go with an mpi conversion. (:
Already took my first step and bought a magna intake just waiting for it to arrive. Still many parts to accumulate but I'm on the job.

I'll try to remember to snap some photos as I go, if not I'll definitely have the major things taken care of. (:

Here's the first vital piece:

Just got it in (shipped) the other day. :)

Very nice. I remembered doing pdi on these when they first came out. I should have brought my friend's one for 4k. back in 1996. It was cherry.

I got a few new pictures up on my StarQuestClub thread > http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116322&pid=1301591&st=80&#entry1301591
due to their size I can't post them here, I could reduce them as I have before but I'm a little on the lazy side today lol. And an update on my mpi conversion; I decided to go with MegaSquirt v3 and a coil on pack design that is being worked on as I type. Really looking forward to the complete assembly. Pics upon arrival!

Like I said pics upon arrival:

So what you see here atop the photo is a couple of Ford ignition coils mounted for a full sequential ignition. Obviously MS to the left and harness to the right. I just bought a larger radiator and am shopping for a bigger intercooler. That along with one or two minor parts and this process will take place.

Thanks guys!

@855turbointclr, that's good news to my ear. Great to have more being put back on the road. Is there much left to do. ?

Verry clean starquest! MPI is probably one of THE best upgrade you can do to these cars. I am ashamed to say I never ever converted one. I did have the TBI running 2 primary injectors at one point but eh...
When these cars are done right they are one of the best neoclassic cars. And youre doing it right! good job.

Thanks, and I agree. Mpi is really the only way to go with these motors. Major improvement over the whole tbi unit. Don't be ashamed though it's a very pricy arrangement. Unfortunately you can't just go to a speed shop and pick the things up. I hope to have it all done by December, fingers crossed.

Little update, I have gone full blown into the conversion. Got some time off from work so this was my only real opportunity to get it done.

Coil on pack ignition mounted:

Larger intercooler mounted:

I also have a picture of the intake mocked up but I can't post it due to size restrictions, I'll take another at a later time horizontally.

I've also changed my fuel pump to a larger capacity one and now what's left to do is basically wire it up and plumb the pipes. Stay tuned. :tu:
