That works too!

You need to find someone who does good interior work for cheap. I know it sounds like a needle in a haystack issue but they do exist! There is a guy in my town that works out of his garage and he does Damn fine work. 150 to redo my drivers seat... I'll get a pic up to show you. Keep it on mind though. For about 500 you could get the car done...

This was taken a few months ago. He matched the stitch perfectly... hmmm, maybe its time to take new pics...

Those look fantastic. Yeah, Id like to get all the seats done and maybe the headliner (we shall see once I try to clean it) but Im not at that point right now. It will probably be one of the last things I do... same with paint. What seats are those?- those are really nice.

Those are the seats in my 77 te31 corolla.

Did you ever figure out your heater issue?

Damn, I guess I assumed they were Datsun seats... they look awesome. Ive ben reading up on the heater, but I dont have the space to work on it at my apartment so Ive been trying to figure out a place that will allow me to run antifreeze onto the ground; Im going to try and do it this weekend. As long as something isnt physically broken or burned out I should be able to fix it.

Ya, coolant getting everywhere is the tricky part. My shop has drains in the floor for that. Park faxing downhill like a driveway, most of the coolant will drain out that way. There won't really be much left I'm the heater for anyone to notice. When you pull your heater linear to flush it, the stuff that might come out will be grey or brown on color, will look like mud...

I have a few areas around my building that I think I can ninja ops it. I just need to find a place that has access to a hose so I can flush and wash the pavement of all evidence. I might take a walk to find someplace good. Thanks for all the tips. If anything, Im going to a friends shop next week sometime... maybe I will just do it then. I can freeze a couple more days.

Received a package in the mail yesterday (picked it up today) and now I can charge my iPhone in the car and turn my windshield wipers on easier. I now have a new knob for the switch and a cigarette lighter... I dont smoke, but every time I go on cruises my phone dies because I have to use it for directions and music. The radio doesnt work so I have to rock Pandora on the phone. Anyway, not a ginormous update but an update none-the-less.

Well, I fixed my heater issues. You will never guess what my issues were. After a bit of reading, I figured that I should replace my thermostat with a higher temperature one to help to help the heater and get the car to a warmer temp. Ive heard from a couple people that going up to 195* has helped the car run smoother. I figured for $8 it was worth a shot. Anyway, drained the upper radiator hose, disconnected it, and unbolted the thermostat housing. All I found coolant... no thermostat!

Added that bitch in there and the heater was blowing fire on the way home. Man, how the hell did a thermostat get left out?! Either way, its running great now. We did a compression check, timing, added new points (well single point), and dumped some seafoam into the car. Shes doing good now. Unfortunately its still stalling, but hopefully thats the next thing that gets cleared up.

Ive started a L20b build which hopefully will progress pretty quick. Ive started to amass the parts and will start the build once I have all the pieces. the 20 should be a pretty good bump in HP/torque. Ill have more on that once we get closer to putting it into the car.

Haha! Its funny but it happens more often than it should. We car guys always expect others to know what they are doing. Glad you found the issue though! Apologize for my last post. Didnt realize my phone was T9'ing me to death, Haha!

No worries, I assumed as much. I'm probably still going to do a flush of the whole system to make sure, but when I took the thermostats housing off the coolant looked really fresh. I think the PO changed it before I bought it.

Well, my buddy who owns and operates BOSS Innovations down in Tacoma, Wa is having a grand re-opening this Saturday. He recently moved shop locations and is having a big meet of all makes and models this weekend so I figured I would go down and help out with the last minute things to get ready. Anyway, while I was down there he hooked me up with a little metal-work. I ran into a slight problem as there is a small dent in the rear. My new GL lights were mounted with the exception of the finisher plate. Was a pretty easy install with the only exception being the unflat area where the finisher is suppose to be. When I get ready for paint we will pull the dent and install the third piece of the lights.

I really wish the rear of the car was straighter so that I could continue the install, but oh well. Just a few more pieces I have to acquire before I can paint the car...

What about the 280ZX front struts and brakes? Are you going to install them as soon as they arrive? I would like to see pictures.

Yeah, as soon as they show up I will more than likely be throwing them on. I dont have anything for a rear setup, but Im thinking Im just going to rock cut rear springs for a bit. No one ever rides in the back so I dont have to worry about comfort for anyone.

I appreciate the front strut assemblies Paul. The tracking number said they were suppose to be here on the 6th I believe, so I have a little wait. Hopefully I have tires by then too so I can mount my new rims the same day. We shall see.

Couple things for today-

Well, due to unforeseen circumstances with family matters I was busy all day. I had a bunch of plans for today but all of the were cancelled... I was suppose to call Diamond Racing Wheels today, but wasnt able to get to them before the closed, especially with the time difference. Looks like I will have to call them on Monday. I still hope they can get here by Thursday.

A couple days ago I was at my buddies shop hanging out. I was watching them with a customers 2Jz swapped 240sx; its a beast and is getting ready for the upcoming drift event at Evergreen Raceway. Anyway, while I was down there I got a free 2G Talon center console. With a little trimming and repainting it works out great... its the best option since its free.

Using a dremel for cutting off the shifter area and utilizing the how-to I posted, you go from this:

To this:

Its not the best thing, but it allows me to rock a cup-holder and I have a place to rest my arm while Im driving. It will do for a while anyway. Ill post pictures in the morning when I install it.

*And yes... thats a unicycle.

I just ordered a set of Aero Racing wheels in 13x7. They shall be here Wednesday which means I should have the 280zx struts, brakes, and coilovers installed on Thursday. Im going to be stretching the current whitewalls onto the new Aeros. I can finally stop worrying about all the parts I have lying around the living room. Now if only the local wheel refinishing companies would email me back so I can get my SSRs back to new looking.

Can't wait to see it.

Always wondered what that particular set-up would look like. You are probably the first person to ever do it. :P

The staggered mismatched SSRs or the white walled Aeros? I'm excited for both of them! :tu:

Yeah I'm hoping they look legit. The sidewall is a little larger than I want for stretching, but it will have to do. It's better than too small. I'd like for them to be 65s but they're 80s. Oh well. We shall see on Thursday. I'll post pics here when fitted.
