1969 Corona RT43...fuel gauge only goes to half tank...does this car carry the fuel pump and fuel sending unit together in the tank? I go to parts store and they try to sell me this electric external fuel pump...I need my gauge to read out proper fuel levels, that should be the sending unit, no? Where can I get one of whatever it is that i need!?

there should be 1 wire running to the fuel tanks. I'm assuming it plugs into the internal fuel pump. Maybe its bad. check rockauto.com for a replacement fuel pump

u have a mechanical fuel pump attached to the engine, passenger side. and sending unit for the fuel gauge is one wire to the tank. having a accurate fuel gauge is not too important but u might wanna pull the sending unit and see if everything is moving freely.

Yea I just noticed that the other day. I will remove it and check it out...I drive the car daily pretty much and I dont know how many miles this car gets to the tank so im driving blind, dont like that feeling.
