Hey

So i finally got around to rebuilding my 2tg because its siezed. Once i tooke the head off i found that my gasket has blown and let coolant into the cylinders, whitch rusted the pistons shut. So i will be needing to hone my block and i think im going to bore it out a lil bit, and i wanted to know what the biggest u can bore it out, i read that u can bore it our to 89mm, but i dont know if thats true. And also i need tome advice on getting a full engine gasket set.I found a couple on ebay but they are like crazy expensive. I need all of the gaskets except the head gasket which i will be making my self. So i would like to know is there a place where i could order some because i cant find any online.

2TG parts are expensive everywhere unfortunately. This guy http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/ is good and has most things. There are also retailers in the US you can get stuff from. The chain slides are particularly difficult to get, and people often look at getting them recoated, but have heard varying reports of success and otherwise. Plenty of info around on the net on building to 1750 or 2000cc

Thanks for the info. My 2tg will be bored to 88 or 89(depends on whitch rings i can get) so it should become a 1758cc.

Some say it is possible to use a regular 2T gasket. That one is very cheap and easy to get. (daihatsu charmant and for toyota)

The missing part of HG around the timing chain can be filled up with self-cut paper gasket and instant gasket sealer.

The bridges between cils of the 2T block are very thick a considerable rebore coud be done. But don't know what size exactly.

I thought about boring and stroking my 2tg to 2 litres, but i cant find a 3t crank anywhere, so ill settle for a 1.8l. And the head gasket isint a problem for me, i mainly need the intake and exhaust gaskets.
