Also, you can do what I did (which is a bunch more work) and that is:
Welding/filling the holes on the AE86 brake dust shield, then redrilling to suit whatever strut you have. The only reason I did this is because I already had modified AE71 struts with coilovers on them and didn't want to buy new hardware/re-fab the coilovers, so in my case this was the "simpler" (read: much more complicated) solution to an easy problem haha!
