Just picked this up last week, Planning tidying it up and keeping it period correct.

Has a suspected melted piston, compression is all over the place could be that the previous owner thought it would be fine on the stock ECU lol

Slowly been getting together some parts for this build,

Trying to keep it period correct right down to the engine management and instrumentation is tough work.

Heres what i have so far

Tomei AF Gauge
HKS Electronic governor controller (ignition retard)
HKS additional injector controller (basic fueling needs for now until i find the correct FCON then it will be for additional fueling if / when needed.

Boost gauge isnt going in as its not oldskool enough, i know the Tomei A/F gauge isnt really that old but its just going to have to do this time round, and it may not even stay in the car all the time.

Im working on getting some more old style gauges like i have in my Turbo City for this build.
ie these.

Also got lucky and strayed across this goodness,
HKS big valve kit equipped head and blue-top injectors, as far as i can tell there is no HKS cams, im also unsure what other valve gear is HKS as im sure it would have been sold as more than just the valve set at the time.

Not something i expected to find at the time but happy i managed to get my hands on it for a reasonable sum.

Did you finish your project?

I am really curious how it went.

I don't think the owner comes on these forums anymore, I saw the car about 8 months ago, was in the same condition as the pictures above, I think owner has be side tracked with work and other projects

^ Yeah have not had much time to work on it but have it at home now so can slowly get moving on seeing if i can get it running,

Sourced many parts for it so far mostly from Japan,

Gauges from the hood / bonnet are sold, front mount intercooler is sold, fail offset Enkei wheels are sold.

Mounted tires on my Impul Hoshino G5s they are 15x7inch +7 offset both front and rear, They sit nice in the front, but the rear could do with a bit more width, they will suffice for now at least.

Quick picture I took today while there was some snow drifting down.

Started on the engine today, The bay is a mess I'm just going to go through it until I have enough to get it running reliably to figure out what state the motor is in.

Pulled the exhaust side cam cover to find clean! motor and / or heads have been rebuilt at some stage as I suspected by looking down the oil cap. Could be good news.

Started with the cam timing wanted to make sure it was spot on. The previous owner also cut the upper cam cover in half so the belt / cam gears were visible, want to return that to factory.

Hopefully get more time tomorrow to finish this cam timing stuff up and start on setting the ignition timing and vacuum piping.

What a Nightmare!!!!, be interesting to see what becomes of it, I would have thought that finding parts to these cars would be easy in NZ?.

Yes the car is in a bit of a state from one of its previous owners that's for sure!

Z10 are pretty rare in NZ I only know of one parts car its a GZ10 auto with 1G-E lol, already brought a few parts from it hopefully it sticks around for a while.

Got a few more things done so far but the weather has not been great these last couple of days.

Not much completed weather has been average to say the least.

Got the rear upper cover installed and cam timing set.

This car was missing the coil and bracket to hold it and the fuse box when i brought it, got this replacement from a GA60 Supra in a yard fits perfectly.

Brought myself in a HKB boss kit from Japan and installed this Impul steering wheel I have had around for a while.

The turbos both have divorced plumbing from the internal waste gates.

This is where they dump, not sure if this will be staying or not lol

Im moving at the moment so probably wont get a lot more done over the next few weeks sadly.
