Hey all, not posted much on here but thought I'd post up some pictures of my Charmant,

Image

Image

Image

Its a 1300 le
So basically thats a 4k Toyota engine as Im sure most of you already know, its shares the same underpinnigs as a ke70 Corolla,

Image

Was stripped with a ae86 drivers seat and sparco harness and some gauges but I have all the original interior, radio etc.
the b pillars were sprayed black but I will return it to its original state,

Image

The plan is to keep the interior original, maybe 2 grey ae86 front seat because my interior is grey,
Im gonna Keep the body standard and lower it on TRD Blue rear shocks and some short stroke coilovers up front, got these from an ae86, also got some nice wheels too,

SSR mk2R which are very rare in Ireland and Hoshino racing Impul, also rare in Ireland, I got them from this car, still waiting for that car to come in from Japan before I put them on,

Image

I got the car with a blown head gasket and a spare engine so Im currently swapping the heads and getting it up and running again,

Image

Image

Long term plan is a motorsport 4k from a stockrod car that will produce about 130 - 150bhp, pretty impressive for a 4k.
Could easily do a 4ag conversion but I want to keep to the car traditional and original, Plus it will be great to pass ae86s with a 1.3 4k!
Well thats my car, hope you all like it, thanks for reading and Ill keep you all updated,
Cheers,
Jack.

Heya Jack, welcome to JNC! Brilliant Charmant there. I know Hirst will be pleased to see it posted. Those MkIIRs are rare here too. Can't wait to see the wheels and suspension on the car! :tu:

Thanks Ben Im delighted with the car, have been looking for a 70s/80s Toyota for a long time now and this is what I ended up with!
I ideally want a mk3 kp starlet or an 84 spec ae86 Corolla (84 being slotted grille etc in Ireland) We only ever had 48 officially imported in to Ireland and I hope one day to own one or more of them,
The main reason I dont have one yet is that they are making crazy money here right now, Corollas going for over 12000 euro, and starlet 0ver 6000 euros......
I plan to have a kp, an ae, a ke70 Corolla and keep my a35r Charmant too, Maybe an aa60 carina too, That would be my dream collection,

Wow, I didn't know AE86s were so rare there. Prices have been going up here too but nowhere near yours! I remember seeing a pretty well mint gold/brown Levin on UK ebay a few years ago. Went for about 6000 pounds I think.

Oh they are not rare at all! There is thought to be over 1000 ae86s in Ireland alone! The price is dropping a little because the market is saturated, Original Irish and Uk cars make the most and Japanese Ae86s and drift ae86s make less.
Kp6xs are very rare here, but the quality is very good.

They are quite rare.

Btw. about 1,5 month ago a seller tried to sell a brand new charmant engine (for 50 ukp!). He had no chance to sell it, so eventually you can still grab that beauty.

Cheers,

daniel

PS: I will try to lookup the seller

You are right. The displacement is different, but the head is the same.

You will never ever get such a NOS (new old stock) again.

Cheers,

Daniel

Outside tidied a bit but still alot to do to make me happy,

Image

Image

Got a set of snowflakes for it too, for the more classical days... haha

Image

Picking up a 5k block and complete spare running gear tomorrow including, box, prop shaft, complete rear axle with 6" welded differential, complete suspension, petrol tank and lines, hubs and next week getting a 5k complete engine with the big end bearings spun, gonna have a little fun, maybe a high lift cam and twin carbs.....
Just for fun,

I deviated from the classic path a bit and put in a welded diff! haha bit of fun, had to rush to get it ready for a big club meet, it was a great day, its a club for ae86 Corolla/levins/truenos and over 100 showed up, 2 Charmants, 1 kp starlet, ke70 Corolla and some ta celicas too, there are way more starlets and ke corollas but they didnt show up,
Anyway here are some pitures,
Cheers,
